Transparent Builder — programme terms
Founding cohort · last updated 10 September 2026
These terms apply to builders and construction companies who apply to, or join, the Omnisum Transparent Builder programme. They sit alongside the site terms and the privacy notice. The programme is run by Build Place Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 15073761, registered office 111-112 Pentax House, South Hill Avenue, South Harrow, Harrow, London HA2 0DU. Contact: enquiry@buildplace.uk.
1. The programme
A voluntary transparency programme, in two steps.
- Step 1 — the entry review. Currently free. You apply with your company details and your last five quotes, including every variation order that followed and the reason each arose. We read them with you — questions both ways — give improvement advice, and re-review periodically. Entry is free at present; if that changes, existing members get sixty days’ notice.
- Step 2 — the member benefit. Members may submit any quote for review before sending it to their customer: improvement advice plus a full analysis at the member price of £49 including VAT (the public price is £79). Until the member tool is on the site, this is done by email.
2. The mark
“Omnisum Transparent Builder” is a licensed mark, earned, never bought. The criteria are public: an Omnisum Rating of 80 or more on submitted quotes · public liability insurance verified in writing · written payment terms and a written warranty. The licence continues while the criteria are met and the periodic reviews are kept; it ends on lapse, on misuse, or on conduct that brings the mark into disrepute. It may not be transferred. A pre-submission review of one quote is not an endorsement of that quote or that project, and a member must not present any quote or job as “Omnisum approved” unless the criteria are currently met.
3. Integrity — both directions
Customer reports are never softened for members: a member’s quote is analysed exactly as any other, and membership is disclosed in the report. Programme fees buy analysis and advice — never outcomes, rankings or recommendations. Omnisum takes no referral fees and accepts no payment for placement from anyone.
4. Your submissions and data
You warrant that you have the right to share the documents you submit. Your clients’ personal data is redacted on intake: the moment a document has been read, the client’s names, property address, postcode and contact details are removed from what we keep and scrubbed from every other line before any check is written. The file itself stays in your own private folder for the human review and is not shared with anyone else.
We use your submissions to (a) provide your reviews and (b) build anonymised, aggregated insights — for example real variation-order patterns that make cost forecasts more accurate for everyone. Nothing published will identify you or your clients. Your submissions are confidential; they are read by our analyser under terms that do not allow it to train on them; and our advice to you is yours. Deleting your account removes your application and its files at once.
5. Term
Either side may end membership with notice. Ending it removes the licence to the mark and any directory listing. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts.
